On May 13 2010, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Dumitru Ursachi met with World Bank representatives, Mr Arvo Ott and Sergiu Panaghiu.
The purpose of the visit was to assess the situation regarding Internet services and other telecommunications services, including future cooperation in this field.
The meeting focused on several topics, including telecommunications infrastructure, staff motivation and training; existence of policies or strategies in the area, assessing of the current situation on the database and information system managed by the MIA, the use of Internet services, etc.
Some perspectives on the use of new telecommunications services in the context of World Bank project for creating e-Government Center were discussed.
The parties have assessed the negotiations as positive and constructive, agreeing on fruitful and lasting collaboration between institutions.
